Forest Hills Toastmasters in Hillcrest, KwaZulu-Natal dedicated its 149th meeting on 2 July 2009 to one of its founder members, Martyn Battrick.

Martyn was one of the pillars of the club and attended sadly for the last time after 144 meetings. The club noted with amusement that he had been “Grossed Out!!” Martyn leaves South Africa for England to pursue a new venture or an “adventure” as he calls it.

Not only does this founder member have impressive business credentials but enjoys life to the full spending his extra-Toastmaster recreational time sky-diving and exploring the ocean depths with an aqualung – what a guy!!

Forest Hills Toastmasters wishes Martyn and his wife, Theresa, every success with his new adventure. He will retain links with Forest Hills since the club intends experimenting holding a meeting in December with him included over the Internet.
