Toastmasters District 74

This is a personal thank you to Friedrich, Cheryll, Gillian, Charmaine, Edith (and Lulu), Nosipho, Athol, Andre and Zosia for their involvement at the Toastmaster Awareness Day held on Saturday at The Glen Shopping Centre in Joburg by Gold Reef Toastmasters Club.

At the 11th hour Friedrich was successful in arranging with The Glen's centre management to host a table next to the information booth/Computicket on Saturday between 10am and 3pm.

At the committee meeting on Thursday night, resources were marshalled and the entire Committee was galvanised into action. By Saturday morning we had a table, chairs, Toastmasters banners and tablecloths, helium balloons, as well as flyers (thanks to Keryn House who travelled all the way to the Glen to deliver them).

Then came the shifts of dedicated "Toasties" (named above) who manned the space and engaged with the public while handing out flyers. Wow, is all I can say!

A huge thank you for all the tireless work my friends. It is a true privilege to have friends and team mates like you.

I haven't seen such "gees" in ages anywhere. Your enthusiasm and positive attitude was invaluable in making Saturday a resounding success.

While Friedrich deserves a special mention for all his passion (in doing all the arranging) and energy (thanks my mate), I would also like to single out Gillian for her work and wisdom "behind the scenes" (thanks and mwah!).

Again, thank you so much everyone. I sincerely appreciate your generosity of spirit. Please pass on the thanks of our whole club to your families and partners, who were so kind as to share your valuable time with the organisation and community on Saturday.
