The Leadership Mentoring Programme (LMP) is intended to enable District Leaders i.e. Area Governors, Division Governors and Cabinet Members by allocating mentors to work with District leaders to support them in the performance of their roles.

It is the intention of the programme to raise the effectiveness of the leadership of District by providing the benefits of mentorship to leaders and, in time, making the choice to take on a new leadership position less daunting for first-time leaders.  In the future the programme may also be extended to provide mentors to club officers.

The role of the mentor is to provide information, guidance and encouragement based on their own personal experience of playing the specific role to the incumbent leader.

To all Toastmasters in District 74,  I'm proud to announce that you were part of a Distinguished District last year.

In a telephone call to me yesterday morning, International President , Pat Johnson asked me to convey her congratulations to all in District 74.

If you got a CC, CL, AC, AL or DTM last year then you were part of a successful club; if you were a timekeeper, evaluator, toastmaster, grammarian or spoke in Table topics; if you gave a toast or an invocation, or read the Toastmasters mission at a meeting; if you served on the committee or helped a committee member with any aspect of running a great club, then you were part of this success.

Also a special word of thanks to all our 2010 / 11 District Officers for their dedication and hard work throughout the year. As a District we can be proud of our teamwork and I believe we can say “We did achieve greatness together” !
