Leadership Opportunities 2007/2008

Toastmasters offers many leadership opportunities to its members to learn first hand what is required as a manager and as a leader especially servant leadership roles in working with volunteers without any real positional authority power.

It does so through its organisational structures at Club, District, Regional and International levels. Each year all positions in the movement become available for new incumbents to fill and so create opportunities for its members (based on prior experience and personal desire to improve) to put their names forward to be considered for such positions.

Club officer elections usually happen in or around April and May whilst Districts must have elected their officers by May Conference and the Annual General Meeting each year at which ALL Club Presidents and Vice Presidents Education meet to elect the leaders for the 2007/2008 Toastmasters year.

The structure in District 74 offers 44 opportunities for Leadership office. The following positions are available:

  1. District Governor (1 position)

  2. Lieutenant Governor Education & Training (1 position)

  3. Lieutenant Governor Marketing (1 position)

  4. District Public Relations Officer (1 position)

  5. District Secretary (1 position)

  6. District Treasurer (1 position)

  7. Division Governors (7 positions)

  8. Area Governors (31 positions)
